Immigration Court Cases

An immigrant is entitled to a court hearing when the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is calling for their deportation from the U.S. There are three separate methods utilized in order to defend against such deportation:

a. Cancellation of Removal for Legal Permanent Residents or Aliens
b. Adjustment of Status for the Immediate Relatives of United States citizens
c. Asylum or Suspension of Deportation for immigrants fearing persecution in their birth country

One can petition the United States Government for Asylum within one year of entering the country.
