Galen David Carrico, Attorney:

Galen David Carrico practices in the areas of Immigration and Criminal Defense law. He is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara in Political Science and International Relations. He served as a volunteer for the Obama Campaign of 2008 in Las Vegas, NV. In 2011 he was an intern with the Washoe County Public Defenders Office. He graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2012, focusing on Criminal Defense, Immigration and Environmental Law. Upon graduation, he served as law clerk to the Honorable Judge Brent Adams of the Second Judicial District Court in Washoe County, Nevada from 2012 to 2013.

Galen joined the law firm of Family Visa and Immigration Services formally in 2013. He has worked for the firm as legal assistant on Immigration matters since 2004, Is a Member of American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) attending the National AILA Conferences in San Diego, California in 2012, San Francisco, CA in 2013 and Boston, Mass. in 2014.

Galen has represented immigrants before the Immigration Courts of Nevada in Las Vegas and Reno in Master and Individual Hearings, in Cancellation of Removal and Asylum/Withholding of Removal cases. He has represented immigrants in Nevada state courts in criminal defense matters, including violations, misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors and felonies.

He represents Immigrants and attends interviews on their behalf before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in matters related to Adjustment of Status to Permanent Residence and Naturalization. In addition, he submits petitions to USCIS and U.S. Consulates abroad for adjustment of status to permanent residence for undocumented workers and other intending immigrants who have accrued unlawful presence in the U.S. and require a Waiver of Inadmissibility.

Rita, Paralegal/Business Manager:

Rita is an immigration law paralegal and serves as office manager of the firm’s Las Vegas office where she aids the attorney in initial client interviews, preparing immigration petitions. In addition she manages client accounts.

Perla, Paralegal:

Perla is an immigration law paralegal and has been with the firm since 2012. Perla handles all types of immigration cases as is fluent in both English and Spanish. Perla also handles cases involving the following:

  • Consular Process Petitions
  • Fiance Petitions

Graciela was originally hired as the firm’s Summer Intern and is currently enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at the University of Nevada, Reno. Graciela She currently serves as file clerk and assists the attorneys in preparation for immigration court room proceedings and document gathering and processing is support of I 601A Waivers of Inadmissibility. She also assists with record sealing.
